Creative Cakes
Why a whole section about cakes? They are the amazing icing on the reception. The more unique the better; guests just get a kick out of petits fours and colorful displays. Jo and Ed, a writer and a lawyer, stuck a couple dozen of their absolute favorite edible words on several hundred cup cakes, Meg made her own pretty cake stands from card board and ribbons, Dan and Daniela interviewed 8 bakeries before they found the right pies...The inspired organic sugar rush is so worth it.
All cakes can be made with organic sugar, flowers and berries. The whipped cream is hormone free. Several cakes are vegan and some are made with alternative sugars like maple syrup, honey or agave.
We had great experiences with cakes from Vanilla Bake Shop, Michelle Rodriguez and the Inn of the Seventh Ray. We applaud that Sweet Lady Jane's is going for organic and even did a vegan red velvet cake for Ellen and Portia.
